Wow, is our garden really only two years old? What a difference time has made. But you know, photos really don’t show all the physical effort that went into a garden, do they? Like giving birth, I think I’ve managed to block out all the pain and labor it took to get here.
In 2008, this is what our pitiful, sun-baked yard looked like when we started to plan our garden.
And just two years later, it looks like this:
It’s been an incredibly busy year for us, and believe it or not, we really didn’t get to garden as much as we’d hoped. But I promise you, we were very productive all the same.
To see more of how our garden and house have changed this past year, visit our two-year reflections page (now on the sidebar, as well).
The best thing about garden blogging is that I can go back in time and see how far we’ve come. LOVE IT. And if you are thinking about starting your first garden, be sure to take Before pictures! It’s so worth it.
Yeah! I love before and after shots. It is so satisfying to see how the garden fills in in just a few seasons! Is that white tent a butterfly habitat?
Lovely pictures….you have enhanced our world with your work.
Meredith,
It looks lovely! You have a real green thumb, well done!
Cat, that’s row cover on one of our veggie beds to keep the caterpillars off the plants. I’ll have more up on two other beds soon.
I wish I had taken before and after photos. You are so right. It is great to look back and see what you have accomplished. I also looked back through some of the older posts. I love the sculpture your son made for you. It is wonderful to have those sorts of keepsakes.
Wow! You really have come a long way. It’s beautiful!
Love it! It really is looking quite beautiful with you in just two years. I completely agree about taking LOTS of pictures. I started taking lots of before and afters when we moved in, but still it’s never enough! I wish I’d taken even more!
I love to go back on my blog and see how my garden has changed. Yours looks great!
