To all of the finalists for this year’s Blotanical Awards, congratulations on your nominations and the best of luck in the voting ahead! And I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to those who nominated me for Best Blog Design and Best Texas Blog. My gardening experience this year wouldn’t have been the same without all the wonderful garden bloggers I’ve met through Blotanical, and the same is true for my garden blog. You are all the best in my book. Thank you.
What a lovely way to say thank you. Very creative. Good luck!!!
Congrats on all your nominations, Meredith. You’ve had a great first year of blogging!
That’s a very nice thank you note. Congratulations! You deserve the nominations to the finals and Good Luck!
Meredith, you deserved it. Congrats!!!! and best of luck.
Meredith, Congratulations for the nomination to the finals. I wish you good luck!.. I thought that love sign is interesting, leaves and flowers. One single leaf strike me most…. the yellowsih green one. It looks strikingly similar to Ulam Raja in my garden.. Cheers ~bangchik
That is delightful!
To everyone, your kind words warm my heart so much. Thank you! You are all a part of the reason why garden blogging has become such an important part of my life!
Bangchik, you are right, those leaves look very similar! That little light-green leaf is my favorite leaf of the bunch, because it’s so different from the rest. The leaves I used in the heart picture all came from plants native to Texas, and that one is from Gregg’s Mistflower (Conoclinium greggii), and it is a major butterfly attractor, especially Queens and Monarchs.
Actually, my son came over to watch me work on the heart shape, and he started to try to name the plants they came from. He did really well — and Gregg’s Mistflower is one that he figured out right away! I was very proud to know that my son is learning these plants so well that he can identify them from a single leaf.
My other favorite leaf is from my Lacey Oak tree. It’s in the upper-right of the heart, a little hard to see because it’s tucked behind two other leaves.
One of the most creative posts I’ve seen lately and heart warming too. Keep the posts coming.
Congratulations, Meredith. You deserve the honors and have achieved much is a short time! Good luck and love the heart. 🙂
