Breathe a sigh of relief — my Anacuas survived the killer freezes we had this winter. I want to hug them.
I know you were as worried as I was! But tiny rough-lined leaves are emerging as I type this.
Hurray for my little tactile-pleasing sandpaper delights!
That’s a relief! 🙂 I looked back at your earlier post about Anacuas — it’s obvious this is a special tree to you. I had never heard about it before, but I have a feeling it would be one of my favorites, too, if I lived in Texas or Mexico. Lovely, lovely photos. And great info. I learned a lot!
I’m glad your anacuas made it! We’re still waiting anxiously for a sign of life from our bauhinia & cordia… 🙁
It’s always such a relief when any loved or new plant makes it through the winter. The first signs of bud swelling always make me happy. =)
I hopped over to see your GBBD post, it’s been a long while since I’ve been on the blog roll…and I can’t agree more, the blooms are not as spectacular as the survivors this spring!
Hooray! Glad they made it through the winter.
I share your joy! There’s not much native that we really lose to freeze, except harsh ice storms that bend things over and break. I’m never sure which season I like best: spring, when everything returns, or fall, when everything is in full glory!
